Scott Murphy 

South Eastern Regional Director

Scott Murphy a native of New Orleans Louisiana attended the University of New Orleans where he studied photography. Advance studies were completed through the New York Institute of Photography. Scott’s ability to capture wildlife in action has had his prints published by multiple magazines and the U.S. National Park Service as well as various State tourist guides. Scott moved to the mountains of East Tennessee in 1988. In 1989 he began working for the Gatlinburg Convention Center. To date he has worked over 16 years in the public assembly field with a background in food service, event management, engineering and facility management.

Scott began studying the Martial Arts under Dr. Dan Netherland in 1997 and currently holds rank in Kinami-Ryu Aiki, Aikiji Kempo and Kobojutsu. He has attended three United States Martial Arts Hall of Fame training camps and this year in Chicago IL, he received an award for Seishin Tanren, a 134 consecutive day outdoor spirit forging where he did 1,000 strikes and kicks per day in all weather during the winter months of 2004-05. He is part of the NXB (Netherland Xtreme Breaking Team), a combat martial arts demo team with members holding many Guinness and World Record Federation World Records.
